Shopzilla expands Smart Pricing Program

Our main goal at Shopzilla is to provide merchants with qualified leads that convert to sales.  In order to bring you the best converting traffic we are expanding our Smart Pricing program effective May 15, 2012.  Smart Pricing aligns CPC charges with conversion and cost of sale meaning that your CPC will vary based on the quality of the traffic.  We’ve been using Smart Pricing for our partner traffic for a while now and you may have seen instances where your average CPC is less than your bid.  That’s Smart Pricing in action and you’ll start to see more of it! Spring is a great time to review your Shopzilla account.  Review your data feed content to make sure that you’re including all the needed information and taking advantage of features that will help you make the most of your campaign.  We are heading into a big gift giving season with Mother’s and Father’s Day and graduations so make sure that you are ready! Here are 3 important things to check on:   Step 1:  Review your product titles.  They should contain the brand name and type of product to ensure that they are shown in a text search.  Here’s a good example of a properly formatted title.  This product would show up in a brand search, a shoe style search and a color search:       Step 2:  Make sure that you are including product availability in your data feed.  If the product is available then you should list the words “in stock” in the appropriate column of your data feed.  All products that we know are in stock will ... New Promotional Text Program

We recently launched a new program that allows you to display up to 50 characters of text with your product listings, right underneath the title. This is a great way to add your marketing message, coupon code or special offer and can help increase conversions. Here are a couple of examples of how it looks: The Promotional Text is provided through your data feed so you can add it on everything or just on specific SKUs. Once the text is in your feed and mapped then you opt-in by subcategory so it is very easy to test the program. There are two steps to get started: Contact us to let us know you are interested in the program. If you are using our EasyList program we will need to change to an FTP setup. This is very easy to do and we can help you through the process. We recommend that all merchants provide us with shipping information in order to maximize qualified click-throughs from Shopzilla and Bizrate. Search results from merchants who aren’t providing shipping costs will display with “See Site For Shipping” messaging. These listings are more likely to see unqualified traffic from users looking to figure out their bottom line price before making a purchase. By including shipping information alongside your listings, you give our users all the information they need up front, reducing the risk of charges from exploratory clicks. Additionally, merchants who provide shipping information may receive enhanced placement in our listings. There are two ways to provide shipping information – through your product datafeed or through the Shipping Calculator in your Shopzilla account.
